Continuing To Invest In Tomorrows Engineers

6th December 2019

Today (05.12.2019) we welcomed students from City College Norwich to Panel Graphic.

The four Students are currently studying engineering on a Level 3 BTEC extended diploma. The four young engineers visited our site for a factory tour & a group discussion with the view of the company potentially taking on several students for an apprenticeship placement commencing in the new year.

Steve & Dave took the students round in Two’s for a factory tour, showing them what the company is all about, and the diverse and innovative work we manufacture.

Over the last Six months Panel Graphic have been working very closely with our local schools & academies to with the aim of developing a joint informative careers workshop entailing the following:

  • Factory site visits with question and answer session for pupils, plus management mentoring.
  • Panel Graphic have been instrumental with setting up a Year 9 ‘Careers Fair’ for approximately 140 pupils, this entails a presentation of not only our own products and services, that we manufacture, but also other local businesses.

As a business it’s very important to us that we invest as much time & passion as possible into our social responsibilities.

There is a lack of informative choice for students to decide their chosen career path, having had three children going through the process, plus in excess of thirty work experience students go through the business I believe that having a close connection with local education is something most businesses should consider. As there was nothing currently in place, we have decided to initiate this ourselves with the hope that other businesses will follow.
